Popular Culture is defined as variety of attitudes, many behavioral patterns, and cultural ways that describe and define each and every person in any society. I beleive that by studying popular culture I will benifit in more ways than one. Seeing all of the issues that occur in society due to the culture of todays media will help me see where morals stand. Too often celebrities are seen as troublesome people and that makes me personally feel better about myself because, I am the average american who has fewer problems than someone who can have anything they ever wanted. Also by studying popular culture I am able to veiw many different groups of people and learn about their cultural ways. How does this benefit me you ask? In america we have several varieties of cultures and schools as well as areas of work places are becoming more and more mixed will different groups of people. If i can gain knowledge of the different cultural ways of various groups it will help me as a student and an employee become more accepting and easier to be around because i will have an understanding of where people are coming from.
